Imagine having a school that incorporates your academic study with an optional Equestrian Programme. Visit your favourite pony or horse, groom them, and begin tacking up! Under the caring and watchful eyes of certified and experienced riding instructors, the young novice, intermediate, and advanced rider will enhance their overall riding performance, etiquette, and have an incredible time in the equine programme created especially for children. Fun and games are incorporated into special competitions called gymkhanas. The Programmes are structured to teach the early beginner the differences between horses, ponies, colours and markings, and progress towards the more experienced riders. Every student, regardless of expertise, will have fun, learn in a safe and well supervised atmosphere, and develop self-confidence and responsibility. Keswick Sutherland School affords the young rider an abundance of scenic beauty and outdoor opportunities. Located in what is coined “horse country,” the campus will offer students over 10 km of pristine riding trails within a safe and secure riding environment. After many lessons, the students will have gained excellent riding skills and confidence for a trail ride or a "hack." Veterinarians, farriers, and trainers will visit and work with the horses and ponies, teaching the young student their role in keeping them healthy and happy.
