The Keswick
Sutherland Heritage Study Farm affords students unique opportunities.
Students incorporate
land management, animal husbandry, ecology, horticulture, biology and chemistry, mathematics, accounting,
economics, physics, and current environmental issues, through "hands on"
farm activities. The opportunity afforded by the Heritage Study Farm is a
point of departure from traditional classroom studies and expands the educational syllabus. Keswick Sutherland students
achieve ecological literacy through experiential learning, and our
"From
Farm to Table" component teaches the student the economic journey that
farm produce undertakes from planting to harvesting to the market. Students will enjoy fresh air in the outdoor cabanas, use the
amphitheatre for writing, sketching, study, or to listen to guest
lecturers. It is only at Keswick Sutherland School that students are
introduced to the crucial link between what has been coined by the Ministry
of Education as “the world outside the school.”
